Due to the release of a biochemical marker specific to the heart muscle, patients with acute coronary syndrome, as is the case with myocardial necrosis, can now be diagnosed. Even if characteristic changes are absent in the patient's ECG, a positive troponin T test indicates an NSTEMI, which can support a rapid therapy decision.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTest Principle\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis test contains two monoclonal antibodies specific for troponin T (gold-labelled and biotinylated). These form a so-called sandwich complex with troponin T. After the erythrocytes have separated, the plasma flows through the detection zone of the test. If the concentration of troponin T is higher than 0.1 ng\/ml, the detection line turns red. This is due to the accumulation of troponin T sandwich complexes. Excess gold-labelled antibodies bind and stain the control line.
