The CLUNGENE Covid-19 antigen fast test is a lateral flow immunoassay that can qualitatively detect an acute SARS-CoV-2 infection. The fast test is given with all essential instruments and can be performed at the point of care. The results can be read 15 minutes after the specimen is applied. No cross-reactivity with influenza viruses or human coronaviruses (229E, OC43, NL63, HKU1) has been found. 

The test is intended to detect SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid antigens in nasal, nasopharyngeal, and oropharyngeal swabs.

Nasopharyngeal specimens are obtained by putting a swab into the nose and collecting the sample from the posterior wall of the nasopharynx. Oropharyngeal specimens are obtained by introducing a swab into the posterior pharynx and tonsillar areas and rubbing it across both tonsillar pillars and the posterior oropharynx.

The nasal swab is removed from the nasal mucosa by inserting it approximately 2.5 cm into the nose and passing it along the nasal mucosa many times. The operation is repeated with the same swab in the opposite nostril. 

The antigen test is suitable for detecting the following mutations: Alpha (B.1.1.7), Beta (B.1.351), Gamma (P.1), Delta (B.1.617.2), Lambda (C.37), Omicron (B.1.1.529), Eris and BA.2.86, as well as the sub-variants BA.1, BA.2, BA.2.75, BA.2 .75.2, BA.4, BA.5, BF.7, BQ.1, BQ.1.1, XBB, XBB.1.5, XBB.1.16, XBB.1.9.1, XBB.1.9.2, XBB.2.3, EG.5, CH.1.1, JN.1, KP.2, KP.3, KP.3.1.1, XEC, LP.8.1 and NB.1.8.1.

Depending on the batch, the CLUNGENE Covid-19 Antigen Rapid Test is supplied with 25 pre-filled extraction tubes or a bottle with buffer solution for all rapid tests.
