Serafol AB0 Bedside Cards
The Serafol AB0 bedside test by sifin is used to determine the blood type, and is usually used shortly before a blood transfusion. The double card enables both the donor's blood and that of the recipient to be tested. This means that any incompatibility can be safely ruled out. The Serafol AB0 bedside cards are easy to use and provide reliable results in just a few minutes.
The colour coding of the test agents and strong, rapid agglutination prevent confusion, and even weak blood type features will provide clear results.
The test fields of the card are each provided with an anti-A serum and an anti-B serum. When the antibodies are mixed with the patient's blood, either a clumping occurs or the field remains constantly red. Field 1 with the serum of anti-A antibodies clumps when blood from blood groups A and AB is added. The second field with anti-B antibodies clumps when blood from blood groups B and AB is added. Only blood group 0 does not clump with either test field.
